France Rolls Out Walk-in Visa Service in Saudi Arabia
Saudi citizens can now apply for French visas without an appointment at VFS centers in Riyad and Dammam, marking a key ease in travel bureaucracy and strengthening bilateral ties.
Saudi nationals planning trips to France now face fewer administrative hurdles. A new walk-in visa service launched on 7 May 2024 lets applicants submit visa requests directly at select VFS centers in Riyadh and Dammam without booking an appointment in advance. The initiative is designed to streamline the process and make visas more accessible for travelers.
How the no-appointment service works
The walk-in visa service is immediately available following its official rollout. From 7 May 2024, VFS centers in Riyadh will reserve 100 daily slots and those in Dammam 50. Allocations are filled on a “first-come, first-served” basis during standard business hours, giving Saudi citizens more timely opportunities to apply.

This upgrade reflects the strengthening and evolving relationship between France and Saudi Arabia. By smoothing the visa path for travelers, the change is expected to boost two-way exchanges between the nations. It may also set a template for other countries looking to ease consular service access for Saudi applicants.
Applying made simple
Eligible Saudi citizens need only visit a VFS center in Riyadh or Dammam carrying the required paperwork. The cumbersome step of booking an online appointment is now unnecessary, cutting wait times and cutting red tape.
Prospective visitors are advised to confirm opening hours and document lists on the official site before traveling. The VFS centers operate Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
