Moroccans can now apply for Jordan’s e-Visa

Jordan launches an e-Visa program for Moroccan travelers as a reciprocal measure following Morocco's own opening to Jordanians. Discover how the e-Visa and Jordan Pass can enhance your trip to the Hashemite Kingdom.

Jordan, through its embassy in Rabat, has announced the availability of an electronic visa for Moroccan citizens intending to visit the Hashemite Kingdom. The move reciprocates Morocco’s recent decision to offer an e-Visa to Jordanians.

Streamlined travel with the Jordan e-Visa

The e-Visa presents a convenient alternative for Moroccan travelers seeking to visit Jordan without the bureaucratic hurdles often associated with traditional visas or on-arrival processes. Travelers simply need to complete an online application and pay the applicable fee to obtain travel authorization. The processing time is also significantly faster compared to standard visas, saving time for professionals and leisure travelers alike. This option aligns with current health requirements by minimizing physical contact and queues during visa applications.

The added benefit of the Jordan Pass

Alongside the e-Visa launch, Jordanian authorities have introduced the Jordan Pass, a program that grants easier access to the kingdom’s leading cultural and historical landmarks. The pass includes discounted entry to top attractions, such as the iconic Petra, the ancient city of Jerash, and Ajloun Castle. By purchasing the pass, visitors can enjoy a more fulfilling Jordanian itinerary at reduced cost. In addition, the Jordan Pass waives visa fees for nationals of over 120 eligible countries staying at least three nights. Morocco is not yet listed on the official website, though an update is expected soon.

Strengthening ties between Morocco and Jordan

These initiatives reflect broader efforts to deepen bilateral relations between Morocco and Jordan across political, economic, and tourism sectors. The introduction of the e-Visa and Jordan Pass underscores Jordan’s commitment to furthering exchanges with Morocco and attracting visitors eager to explore its cultural heritage.

Boosting Jordan’s tourism sector

The launch of the e-Visa and Jordan Pass offers a significant boost to Jordan’s tourism recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic. By easing entry for Moroccan travelers, these measures are expected to increase visitor numbers and stimulate the local economy. As part of a broader tourism revitalization strategy, Jordan aims to enhance its international profile and showcase its rich cultural and natural treasures to a wider audience.
