Morocco Launches Electronic Visa for Tourists and Residents
Morocco has officially introduced an e-Visa system to streamline travel document acquisition for eligible foreign nationals, aiming to modernize consular services in line with King Mohammed VI's directives.
Morocco has officially introduced its electronic visa (e-Visa) system, effective since 10 July.
"The launch [of the e-Visa] aims to simplify and modernize consular services, in line with His Majesty the King’s High Directives," stated Fouad Kadmiri, Director of Consular and Social Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad.
This new procedure simplifies travel document acquisition for foreign nationals subject to visa requirements. Currently, 49 countries qualify for the Morocco e-Visa.

Implemented in accordance with His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s directives on improving and digitalizing Moroccan consular services, the e-Visa system offers a streamlined yet highly secure process. Data is fully protected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, enabling travelers to apply remotely and receive their visa by email.
The Morocco e-Visa is valid for 30 days, with the option to extend it up to 6 months for multiple entries.
Specific groups of foreign nationals are eligible for the e-Visa, including:
Nationals of certain countries (starting with Thailand and Israel) as designated by Moroccan authorities;
Foreign nationals holding a valid residence or stay permit of at least 180 days at the time of application, residing in EU member states, the US, Australia, Canada, the UK, Japan, Norway, New Zealand, or Switzerland;
Foreign nationals with a valid multiple-entry visa from Schengen countries, the US, Australia, Canada, the UK, Ireland, or New Zealand, valid for at least 90 days at the time of application.
