Morocco streamlines e-visa applications for Egyptians
Egyptian travelers can now apply for Morocco's electronic visa online, following recent policy changes to enhance bilateral ties. Learn about eligibility, processing times, and how to apply.
Morocco has recently taken a proactive step to strengthen its ties with Egypt by introducing simplified electronic visa (eVisa) applications. Like other foreign nationals, Egyptians can now submit their eVisa applications online for travel to Morocco.
How to apply for a Moroccan eVisa
Egyptian citizens may now apply for Moroccan eVisas for tourism or business purposes directly through an online portal, as confirmed by the Moroccan Embassy in Cairo. An official eVisa application platform is now available for eligible applicants, including Egyptians.
Once approved, the eVisa grants holders a 180-day validity, allowing stays of up to 30 days in the Kingdom of Morocco.
Morocco e-visa processing times and types
The Moroccan eVisa system currently offers two categories: unified visa and express visa. Processing times differ depending on the type requested. A unified visa takes up to 72 hours, while an express visa is processed in just 24 hours.
While this initiative primarily benefits Egyptian travelers, it also extends to nationals of countries with specific residency permits. Eligible individuals include those holding residence permits or visas from EU member states, the United States, Norway, Canada, Switzerland, and New Zealand—provided they hold passports valid for at least three months.
Implemented on 10 July 2022, the eVisa system streamlines visa acquisition for eligible applicants through a user-friendly online process. Visa fees are also payable digitally.
