Saudi Arabia Resumes Tourist eVisas and Umrah After Hajj
Saudi Arabia reopens e-visa portal for tourists and Umrah pilgrims from June 10, enabling multiple-entry stays up to 90 days under a one-year validity.
Saudi Arabia has reopened its e-visa portal for tourists and Umrah pilgrims. This reopening, effective since June 10, is available to eligible international travelers seeking to enter the country, according to the Saudi Tourism Authority.
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah confirmed that Umrah visa issuance resumed on June 10, just after the completion of Hajj rituals. Pilgrims in Mecca concluded their journey with the farewell tawaf, the final ritual of the pilgrimage. Earlier this year, Saudi authorities had suspended the issuance of all visa types, including Umrah, family visit, and tourism visas, ahead of Hajj. April 13 was the last entry date for Umrah pilgrims before the start of the annual pilgrimage.
eVisa reopening
The resumption of electronic visa applications follows the Hajj period, allowing visitors from all backgrounds to once again explore the country’s iconic sites—such as the holy cities of Mecca and Medina—as well as major destinations like Riyadh, Jeddah, and Tabuk. The fully digital application process makes obtaining a visa as easy as a few clicks, completed in minutes.
The tourist and Umrah e-visa comes with notable benefits: multiple entries, stays of up to 90 days, and a one-year validity. Travelers can plan their trips with confidence, whether for religious or leisure purposes.
Visa on arrival for multiple nationalities
As part of these streamlined procedures, holders of valid Schengen, UK, or US visas, as well as residents of the European Union, the United Kingdom, or the United States, can now obtain a visa on arrival at the Kingdom’s entry ports.
Adventure, spirituality, and culture
Saudi authorities are also highlighting the wealth of experiences on offer: cultural festivals, desert excursions, Red Sea cruises, and heritage discoveries. This push reflects the Kingdom’s broader commitment to opening its doors to international tourism and showcasing its spiritual and cultural heritage.
