South Korea exempts vaccinated travelers from quarantine via Q-Code
Vaccinated travelers to South Korea can now use the Q-Code system to avoid a 7-day quarantine from March 21, 2022. Learn how to register and what requirements remain.
As of 21 March 2022, vaccinated travellers may register on the “Q-Code” system to qualify for a seven-day quarantine exemption on arrival in South Korea.
Please note: if the traveller’s vaccination history is not yet recorded in Korea, exemption will only apply from 1 April 2022.

To benefit from the exemption travellers must present a QR code obtained after completing an online registration on the “Q-CODE” system managed by the Korean Disease Control and Prevention Agency. Registration is carried out on the portal cov19ent.kdca.go.kr.
What exactly is Q-Code? The Quarantine Pre-Entry Information System (Q-Code) was introduced by Korea’s Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) to shorten inspection time for quarantine rules at South Korean borders and to streamline immigration procedures for foreign entrants.
The presentation of a negative PCR test result, administered within 48 hours of travel, remains compulsory, and the document must be uploaded to the Q-Code system.
French citizens and travellers from 49 other visa-waiver countries must still apply for a K-ETA electronic travel authorisation before departure. The K-ETA is valid for two years and permits multiple short stays for tourism, visiting friends or family, attending events or meetings, and non-profit business activities. 🇰🇷
