U.S. ESTA fee rises to 21 USD: What’s new for travel from 2024
The U.S. ESTA authorization fee jumped from 14 to 21 USD on May 26, and remains in force until at least September 30, 2027.
As of May 26, the fee for the U.S. Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) has increased from 14 to 21 USD.
Remember: 40 nationalities—including France—do not require a visa for short visits to the United States, but must obtain a valid ESTA in advance. Each ESTA is valid for two years, or until the associated passport expires.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection Service has confirmed travelers who currently hold a valid, approved ESTA will not need to reapply.
According to the change published in the Federal Register notice, the 21 USD fee will remain in effect at least until September 30, 2027.
