Thailand Pass: Latest Entry Rules Explained

From 1 June 2022, Thailand simplifies the Thailand Pass process with new entry requirements for international travellers and drops quarantine for unvaccinated visitors.

Major changes to the Thailand Pass system come into effect from 1 June 2022 after the most recent briefing by the CCSA (Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration) on 20 May.

For international travellers:

  • Foreign visitors must still apply for a Thailand Pass via tp.consular.go.th, but are now only required to submit passport details, vaccination proof, and travel health insurance covering at least €10,000.

  • The Pass will be issued automatically with no processing delay and will include a Thailand Pass QR code for entry.

  • Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers no longer face mandatory quarantine or a pre-flight RT-PCR test within 72 hours of travel. Instead, they must take a rapid antigen test on arrival at their Thai airport. A positive result leads to hospital treatment covered by their travel insurance; a negative result grants entry without quarantine.

For Thai nationals:

  • Thai citizens no longer need the Thailand Pass when travelling domestically, offering welcome relief for internal mobility and supporting the local economy.
