Madagascar e-Visa Fee for 2-Week Stays to Triple in 2026
From 16 February 2026, the e-Visa price for stays of up to 15 days in Madagascar jumps from €10 to €30, hitting short-term visitors but leaving longer stays unchanged.
As of 16 February 2026, the electronic visa (e-Visa) fee for short stays of up to 15 days in Madagascar has tripled, rising from €10 to €30. A surprising adjustment for casual visitors, while all other e-Visa durations remain unchanged for now.
Madagascar’s authorities have quietly raised entry fees for brief stops. An official notice released on evisamada-mg.com, the country’s dedicated visa portal, confirms the new tariffs for short-term visitors.

Cost for two-week visits triples overnight
The change took effect mid-February 2026 without fanfare and applies only to short stays—typically business travellers or holidaymakers from neighbouring Indian Ocean islands such as Réunion or Mauritius.
Previously €10 for up to 15 days, the same e-Visa now costs €30 (or US $35), bringing it close in price to the fee for a full 30-day pass.
Tariff grid: what stays the same
Travellers on longer itineraries will be relieved: the Malagasy government has left the rest of the e-Visa tariff schedule untouched.
Up to 15 days: €30 (or $35) 🔴 Sharp increase
16–30 days: €35 (or $41) 🟢 Unchanged
31–60 days: €40 (or $47) 🟢 Unchanged
Extension at local immigration: 210 000 Ariary (≈ €41) 🟢 Unchanged
Arrival visas and consulates: temporary reprieve?
This hike currently applies only to the online e-Visa programme.
At the moment, neither Malagasy embassies and consulates abroad nor airport visa-on-arrival desks (for example, at Ivato in Antananarivo) have raised their fees. Yet history shows that land-side counters often catch up within weeks of an online price rise.
Our recommendation:
Despite the 15-day bump, applying online via the official portal at evisamada-mg.com remains the fastest route and helps you skip long airport queues.
