Smoother Entry for Travelers
This decision aligns with the Thai government’s ongoing efforts to revive the tourism sector, severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Authorities aim to welcome 40 million international visitors by year-end by offering a more seamless and accessible travel experience.
Alongside this exemption, Thailand continues to offer a visa-on-arrival program for 31 countries, allowing a 15-day stay for nationalities not covered by the exemption. Travelers are advised to verify specific conditions before departure.
Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin emphasized the importance of this measure for the national economy and assured that authorities have implemented effective measures to ensure safe and smooth entry into the country.
Thailand is positioning itself as a must-visit destination by further easing access for international travelers through expanded and extended visa exemptions. This initiative is expected to benefit both tourists and the local economy, while strengthening the country’s status as a top global destination for tourism and business.
