Egypt Eases Entry Rules for Moroccan Travelers
Morocco and Egypt simplify travel by easing visa requirements for citizens, allowing easier entry to Egypt for Moroccan travelers with valid Schengen or GCC residency or used visas.
Morocco’s recent announcement by the Egyptian Embassy marks a major shift in entry conditions for Moroccan citizens traveling to Egypt. Egyptian authorities are prioritizing smoother travel, notably through streamlined visa procedures.

Currently, Moroccan nationals can apply for a standard visa through the Egyptian Embassy in Rabat. Visa exemption remains in place solely for children under 14 years of age.
Key Changes
Moroccan travelers can now enter the Arab Republic of Egypt without securing a visa in advance, provided they meet one of the following conditions:
Hold valid residency and a valid residence permit in Schengen Area countries, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, Japan, or the United Kingdom.
Possess a previously used entry visa in the passport for Schengen Area countries, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, Japan, or the United Kingdom.
Hold valid residency and a valid residence and return permit in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries (Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Qatar).
Upon arrival, eligible travelers will obtain a visa at designated entry points in Egypt.
Bilateral Travel Simplification
The latest policy shift reflects a broader trend in Egypt-Morocco travel relations. Both nations are adopting reciprocal measures to facilitate visa processes, removing long-standing hurdles for travelers. In 2022, Morocco launched an e-Visa program, which significantly eased travel for Egyptian nationals traveling to Morocco. Reforms like these underscore a commitment to bilateral cooperation and ease of movement across borders.
