In a move towards closer collaboration, Maroc๐ฒ๐ฆ and Azerbaรฏdjan๐ฆ๐ฟ have taken a step forward by signing avisa exemption for holders of ordinary passports for tourism only. This promising agreement was sealed on the sidelines of the 15th Islamic Conference Summit in Banjul, illustrating the positive evolution of bilateral relations between these two nations.
Citizens of both countries will now have the opportunity to visit the other nation without major constraints, which will undoubtedly encourage enriching cultural exchange and diverse economic interactions.

At the 2nd session of the Joint Commission in November 2023, the two countries discussed further promoting bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector, notably by launching direct flights and simplifying visa issuance. This has now been achieved.

The aftermath of a definite rapprochement
The two countries have been trading since the end of last year, with a number of major trade announcements:
- Signature of several agreements and memorandums of understanding in various fields at the 2nd session of the Joint Cooperation Commission in November 2023, illustrating the two countries' desire to deepen their relations.
- Signature of a memorandum of understanding between the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE) and its Azerbaijani counterpart Azpromo, aimed at establishing a partnership and developing investment cooperation.
- Signature of a memorandum between the Moroccan agency Maroc PME, the Azerbaijani agency KOBIA and AMDIE, to promote trade and investment cooperation between SMEs in the two countries.
- Discussions on the prospects for establishing triangular cooperation involving the two countries and partner African countries, as part of Morocco's foreign policy focused on Africa and South-South cooperation.
- Convergence of views on preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, seen as essential to maintaining peace and stability in their respective regions.
