Taiwan Entry Requirements: e-Arrival Card Mandatory from October 1, 2025

Taiwan will require all international travelers to complete an electronic arrival card starting October 1, 2025, replacing paper forms for easier border processing.

Starting October 1, 2025, all international travelers arriving in Taiwan must complete an electronic Arrival Card, replacing the traditional paper form indefinitely. This initiative aims to streamline entry procedures and improve border control efficiency. While the e-Arrival Card has been available in digital form for months, its use will become mandatory on the specified date.

On June 17, Taiwan’s National Immigration Agency issued an official announcement to inform travelers of the new requirement ahead of the transition.

Electronic Arrival Card / Arrival Card

The electronic Arrival Card must be completed online within three days prior to entry into Taiwan. This requirement applies to all foreign visitors, regardless of travel purpose—business, tourism, or other visits. By modernizing entry formalities, digitizing the process reduces paperwork and accelerates data processing by Taiwanese authorities. To support families and groups, the system allows one person to submit arrival details for up to 16 travelers.

Travelers may submit their Arrival Card via the official portal: TWAC.

Officials advise travelers to ensure they have an internet connection to complete the Arrival Card before departure or upon arrival at the airport. This change aligns with Taiwan’s broader commitment to digitalizing administrative services.
