Thailand Launches Digital Arrival Card: Everything You Need to Know
Thailand’s new Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) replaces the paper TM6 form for all arrivals. Learn how, when, and who needs to apply online within 72 hours of entry.
Today marks the launch of a new travel requirement for entering Thailand. All visitors arriving by air, land, or sea must now submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), an electronic entry form.
The new measure, announced by Thai immigration authorities in early April, replaces the previous paper-based TM6 form. Travelers must submit their digital arrival request within 72 hours of arrival in Thailand. The system aims to modernize entry procedures and reduce airport queues by digitizing the process.
Who Must Complete the TDAC
Effective May 1, the TDAC is mandatory for all travelers, including residents. Every entry requires presentation of the electronic arrival card except for the following exemptions:
Thai nationals
Border Pass holders
Transit or connecting passengers who do not pass through Thai immigration counters — Contact your airline or transport provider for details.
How to Apply
The TDAC must be completed online within 72 hours of your arrival in Thailand. If traveling in a group, each person must submit a separate application. Applications are submitted via the official portal: https://tdac.immigration.go.th/arrival-card/#/home. You’ll need to provide personal details including passport data, travel purpose, transport mode, and accommodation information.
