Capago Begins Accepting French Visa Applications in Algeria

Capago International has taken over as the exclusive provider for French Schengen visa applications in Algeria through modern centers in Algiers, Oran, Annaba and Constantine.

Capago International has officially launched operations in Algeria to manage French Schengen visa applications. This marks a significant shift in the visa application process for Algerians planning to visit France.

Since 16 March, Capago International has begun operating as the exclusive provider for collecting French visa application files in Algeria via its website https://fr-dz.capago.eu, and is now accepting Schengen visa applications.

This transition follows a partnership with the French administration, replacing the former providers VFS Global and TLS Contact.

Capago’s services are expected to be fully operational by 8 April.

An Expanded Network for Better Service

Capago has set up modern centers in key Algerian cities to meet demand:

  • Algiers – Central region

  • Oran – western Algeria

  • Annaba and Constantine – eastern Algeria

The opening of a center in Constantine is a first, providing a dedicated location for French visa processing in the northeast of the country.

French Ambassador Stéphane Romatet visited Capago’s visa processing center in Algiers on Monday, 27 January.

A Simplified, Modernized Application Process

The new system aims to enhance the applicant experience through online appointment booking via Capago’s official site, advanced technology for smooth and secure processing, and support throughout the process—from scheduling to biometric data collection.

Capago is also offering a “full-service” visa application package that includes easy drop-off at a Capago center, access to a Premium Lounge with coffee and pastries, and expedited counter service. Exclusive services like passport return by mail and compliant photo capture are included—all for €85 (12,000 DZD) per applicant.

Laurent Mallet, CEO of Capago International, emphasized the company’s commitment to “making these procedures simpler and more accessible through innovative solutions and high-quality customer service.”

Beware of current scams involving French visa appointments!

Several fraudulent practices have been identified. Stay vigilant:
- Mass reservation of slots: Intermediaries block all available appointments as soon as they go live, making it difficult for legitimate applicants to secure a slot.
- Illegal resale of appointments: These same intermediaries sell reserved slots at exorbitant prices, sometimes hundreds of euros.
- Fake promises: Scammers pose as officials, guaranteeing appointments or visa approval for a fee.
- Use of bots: Automated scripts rapidly claim available slots as soon as they become available.
