Gabon to Introduce Online Visa Fee Payments by December 2025

Gabon will launch fully digital visa applications and online fee payments by December 2025, streamlining entry processes and aligning with international migration standards.

From December 2025, travellers heading to Gabon will be able to complete their entire visa application process digitally—from initial request to arrival—introducing a fully online procedure the country began testing with a free tourist e-visa pilot last summer. Aimed at enhancing speed, security and the country’s appeal as a destination, the e-visa system is now live on the official platform evisa.dgdi.ga, where applicants can submit documents such as a passport bio page and a recent photo.

Visa fee payments to move fully online

Previously, visa costs could only be paid in cash upon arrival at Léon Mba International Airport in Libreville, leading to currency exchange queues and administrative delays. Following talks between digital officials, border authorities, and e-payment operators including Airtel Money, Moov Money, Clikpay Money and MaDigiPaie, the Ministry of Digital Economy confirmed plans to integrate secure online payments directly into the e-visa portal. Travellers can now settle fees before departure.

Under the new system, individual entry visas valid 1–3 months cost 70 euros (45,000 XAF), while multi-entry visas valid up to six months are priced at 185 euros (120,000 XAF). A 15€ processing fee applies per application.

Note: A free tourist e-visa was offered from 1 July to 30 September 2025. Read our coverage of the trial for details.

For the Gabonese government, the end-to-end digital model is designed to simplify traveller experience, bolster border security and bring national visa processes in line with international standards. With quicker in-country immigration (biometric registration and entry visa validation), visitors will experience shorter arrival queues and smoother entry formalities.
