Travel to Kyrgyzstan Visa-Free: New Entry Rules Explained
Kyrgyzstan has updated its visa-free travel rules, reducing the permitted stay to 30 days within a 60-day period for eligible passport holders starting late 2025.
On December 31, 2025, Kyrgyzstan implemented new entry rules that reshape how international travelers can arrive and stay for tourism, business, or transit.
A official government announcement was published to inform future visitors of these changes.
The updated visa-exemption policy
Previously, travelers from selected countries could enter Kyrgyzstan and stay up to 60 days without a visa. Under the new policy, visitors from 55 countries—including all EU member states, the United States, Canada, and Australia—now receive a maximum 30-day visa-free stay in any 60-day period from their date of entry. Re-entering via a border run to reset the clock is no longer permitted; adherence to the 30-day rule is now mandatory to avoid overstaying.
Eligible nationalities for visa-free entry
Nationals of the following countries may visit visa-free for up to 30 days:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vatican City, United Kingdom, Hungary, Germany, Netherlands, Greece, Denmark, Iceland, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Canada, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, United States, Finland, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Estonia, Brunei Darussalam, Japan, Montenegro, Andorra, Argentina, Brazil, San Marino, Chile, Albania, Bulgaria, Vietnam, Israel, Cyprus, North Macedonia, Romania, Thailand, Mexico.
Kyrgyz e-Visa platform
The government has launched an e-Visa platform to simplify visa applications for stays beyond the visa-free allowance. Travelers who remain longer than 30 days must obtain an e-Visa before arrival; non-exempt visitors should also check eligibility via the official portal.
The portal, evisa.e-gov.kg/, hosts an online visa application form. Multiple visa types are offered based on travel purpose, each with its own validity and duration limits; travelers should confirm the exact terms for their chosen visa.
