Morocco Introduces Temporary e-Visa for Multiple Nationalities Ahead of CAN 2025

Morocco will require an electronic travel authorization (AEVM) for citizens from 13 African countries from September 25, 2025, to January 25, 2026, in preparation for CAN 2025.

Morocco has just announced the introduction of an electronic visa for multiple nationalities ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025). This new measure applies to certain travelers who were previously visa-exempt and now require an electronic travel authorization (AEVM) before departure.

Morocco’s Electronic Travel Authorization (AEVM)

The e-Visa for travel to Morocco has been available since July 10, 2022, to streamline visa procedures for foreign travelers. However, not all nationalities are required to obtain one, as many remain exempt. Citizens of European, American, Asian, or Maghreb countries can still enter Morocco visa-free for stays of 30, 60, or 90 days, depending on nationality.

e-Visa Mandatory for Specific African Nationalities

Starting September 25, 2025, and continuing until January 25, 2026, Morocco will require electronic travel authorization (AEVM) for citizens of 13 African countries. The affected nationalities include: 🇩🇿 Algeria, 🇧🇫 Burkina Faso, 🇨🇻 Cape Verde, 🇨🇬 Republic of the Congo, 🇬🇦 Gabon, 🇬🇭 Ghana, 🇬🇳 Guinea, 🇲🇱 Mali, 🇳🇪 Niger, 🇸🇳 Senegal, 🇹🇬 Togo, and 🇹🇳 Tunisia.

Travelers can submit e-Visa applications via the official platform: acces-maroc.ma/. Additionally, the mobile application "Yalla" will be available to manage e-Visa requests.

The introduction of the e-Visa aims to better manage visitor influx for the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025), hosted in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026. This system streamlines the online process, ensuring secure and expedited entry for fans, officials, and international tourists during the major sporting event.

By implementing the electronic travel authorization, the Moroccan government is prioritizing modernizing its entry procedures and enhancing border security. Morocco remains a leading and innovative tourist destination.
