Morocco Unveils e-Visa and 'Yalla' App for CAN 2025

Morocco launches the 'Yalla' mobile app and a dedicated e-Visa to streamline visa applications, match ticketing, and logistics for CAN 2025, aiming to attract global fans and showcase the nation’s hospitality.

Morocco introduces "Yalla", the essential mobile app for CAN 2025 supporters

As the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025)—hosted by Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026—approaches, the country is rolling out innovative initiatives to welcome football fans. Among them, the new "Yalla" mobile app stands out as a centralized tool to simplify visitors’ stay.

Yalla: A one-stop hub for fans

"Yalla" is designed to enhance the fan experience by centralizing essential services, including:

  • Visa application management;

  • Match ticket purchases;

  • Accommodation bookings;

  • Real-time match calendars and stadium entry points;

  • Local guidance on dining, attractions, and safety protocols.

Using data from Interpol and football federations, the app will help authorities screen visitors before arrival, denying stadium access to individuals with violent records.

Streamlining entry with the CAN 2025 e-Visa

To ensure smooth and secure arrivals, Morocco is enhancing border controls at airports and land crossings. A special-purpose e-visa has been introduced for CAN 2025.

Since adopting e-visas in July 2022, Morocco has issued nearly 386,000 e-visas by the end of 2024, with 95% for tourism. These visas have attracted travelers from 111 countries, expanding the Kingdom’s tourism markets—particularly strong demand from India, Pakistan, Nigeria, and Egypt.

Elevated security and tourism spotlight

In addition to "Yalla", Morocco will bolster on-ground security with large-scale police deployments, video surveillance, and strict monitoring of foreign fan groups.

CAN 2025 offers a prime opportunity for the country to showcase its sporting tourism and cultural warmth. Six cities will host matches: Agadir, Casablanca, Fès, Marrakech, Rabat, and Tanger, giving visitors a rich taste of Morocco’s diversity.

A dry run for the 2030 World Cup

Hosting CAN 2025 is seen as a rehearsal for the 2030 FIFA World Cup—co-hosted with Spain and Portugal. Morocco aims to leverage the event to refine infrastructure, security teams, and systems for welcoming global fans and media.

With the "Yalla" app and other measures in place, Morocco is poised to make CAN 2025 a resounding success and cement its standing as a premier sporting and tourism destination.
