Traveler exemptions from the Love Bali tax
While the Love Bali tax targets most foreign tourists visiting Bali, several categories of travelers are exempt. The following visa holders do not need to pay the tax:
Diplomatic or official visa holders
Crew visa holders
Temporary or permanent residency permit holders
Family reunification visa holders
Student visas
Golden Visas
Even if exempt, travelers in these categories must still register through the Love Bali portal to formalize their exemption status.
Arrival-visa travelers
Visitors entering Bali with a Visa on Arrival (VoA) or an online e-Visa must also pay the Love Bali tax. They should complete the process before leaving Indonesian territory by visiting an airport or port payment counter or using the online system.
