Indonesia offers two types of electronic visa for foreign travelers: the Visa on arrival (formerly e-VOA or Visitor Visa) and the Tourist Visa (ex B211A Tourism).
THE Visa on arrival is a single-entry visa valid for 30 days. It is available to nationals of over 100 countries, including France, Belgium, Switzerland and Canada. The application is made online, on the Indonesian government website or via a visa agency, and is finalized on arrival in Indonesia. The process is quick and easy, and a reply is usually given within 72 hours.
THE Tourist Visa is a single-entry visa valid for 60 days. It is available to nationals of the same countries and requires proof of savings. Once you've obtained the listed visas, you'll need to print them out and present them on arrival in Indonesia, in addition to your passport.
Both of these visas can be extended by the same initial length of stay, in order to stay longer in the country. To apply, you must already have been in Indonesia for at least 15 days. The extension request must be made between 15 and 7 days before the expiry date of your e-Visa..

The difference between a Tourist e-Visa and a Visitor e-Visa (ex-e-VOA)
Indonesia offers two types of electronic visas for travellers wishing to visit the country: Tourism e-Visa And Visitor's e-Visa (formerly known as e-VOA). Although both types of visa are intended for visitors, they differ significantly in terms of eligibility, validity and length of stay.
The e-Tourist Visa is intended for travelers visiting Indonesia for tourism purposes. Travelers eligible for the Tourist e-Visa are those from countries that benefit from visa-free processing, and who intend to stay in Indonesia for a maximum period of 60 days. The tourist visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue, and allows a single entry into the country.
The e-Visitor Visa (formerly known ase-VOA) is intended for travelers visiting Indonesia for reasons other than tourism, such as business, a family visit or participation in an event. Travelers eligible for the e-Visa Visitor can stay in Indonesia for a maximum period of 60 days (30 + 30-day extension possible) and the visa is valid for a single entry. The visitor visa is also valid for 90 days from the date of issue. It is currently the most widely published document.
Travelers eligible for the Tourist e-Visa can come from certain countries only, while the Visitor e-Visa is available for a larger number of countries. It is also important to note that travelers intending to work in Indonesia must obtain a work visa from the Indonesian embassy or consulate.
How long does it take to obtain an e-visa for Indonesia/Bali, and how long is it valid?
The time required to obtain an e-visa for Indonesia/Bali is generally short. Allow 2 to 3 working days to obtain your electronic visa. However, to be on the safe side, it's best to anticipate your e-visa application by allowing a week for processing.
