Saudi Arabia: All Visa Holders Now Eligible for Umrah Pilgrimage

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has confirmed a major reform to streamline access to Umrah rites. All visa holders—irrespective of visa type—are now permitted to perform Umrah during their stay in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The announcement was shared by the Saudi Press Agency, with authorities also posting on social media platform X via the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah account.

This initiative marks a key step to simplify procedures for visitors and broaden access to services within the Hajj and Umrah system. It aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals.

“These measures reflect the government’s commitment—under the stewardship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince—to enable Muslims worldwide to perform their rites in a peaceful spiritual setting while receiving high-quality services that enhance their religious experience.”

Expanded Visa Eligibility

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the new policy allows travelers to include Umrah during trips initially planned for other purposes. Affected visa types include private and family visit visas, electronic tourist visas, transit visas, and work visas.

Nusuk Omra Digital Platform for Support

The Ministry also highlighted the recent launch of the Nusuk Omra digital platform, designed to deliver a seamless user experience. It enables pilgrims to book services, select time slots, and obtain electronic visas with ease.

The platform simplifies administrative and logistical processes. Umrah visitors can choose from a range of approved service packages that may include:

• Electronic visa

• Umrah insurance coverage

• Accommodation

• Tour itineraries and sightseeing

• Meals

• Transportation

• Umrah services
