Once validated, you will receive by e-mail a Entry Visa Letter (entry authorization letter), which you must print out and present with your passport on arrival. The physical visa, in the form of a sticker, is then affixed to your passport by immigration officials at Conakry international airport, after your photograph and fingerprints have been taken.
Important point to understand: submitting your e-Visa online does not guarantee a visa. The application may be accepted or rejected by the Guinean authorities, and administrative fees are non-refundable, whatever the outcome. This is why a well-constructed file from the outset - legible documents, supporting documents consistent with the declared reason - is essential to maximize your chances of approval. Preparing for your trip to Guinea: final tips
In addition to your visa, here are a few recommendations to help you make the most of your stay. Take out a travel insurance with repatriation and extensive medical coverage (€100,000 minimum recommended), as medical facilities outside Conakry are limited. Bring cash in Guinean francs (GNF) for rural areas, as cash dispensers are rare outside major cities; cash in euros or dollars is easily exchanged in Conakry.
The best time to visit the country is from November to April, The dry season is particularly pleasant for hiking in the Fouta Djallon. The rainy season (May to October) makes some trails impassable, but offers spectacular green landscapes and superb waterfalls at full force.
For connectivity, you'll need a local SIM card (Orange Guinée, MTN, Cellcom), which you can buy at the airport or in town on presentation of your passport. The official language is French, spoken by much of the urban population; local languages (Soussou, Peul, Malinké) predominate in the regions.
Visamundi accompanies each traveller from A to Z: checking the file, secure transmission to the Air and Border Police, follow-up of your request and delivery of your Entry Visa Letter.
