Cambodia Launches Digital Travel Pass and e-Arrival System
Cambodia debuts 'v-Pass' and expanded 'e-Arrival' to modernize entry and exit procedures, replacing stamps and QR codes with a centralized digital platform.
As of 1 July 2025, Cambodia has launched in a pilot phase a new digital system dubbed the « v-Pass (Visitor Pass) » for foreign travellers. Overseen by the Directorate General of Immigration (DGI), this initiative modernises the country’s entry and exit management by phasing out passport stamps and QR codes in favour of a centralised digital platform.
Fully digital immigration ahead
Launched under Cambodia’s government-wide digital transformation strategy, the Cambodia v-Pass streamlines border procedures, boosts administrative efficiency and strengthens security at every checkpoint for visitors arriving or departing through the Kingdom’s three main international airports or maritime ports. From now on, all visitors entering Cambodia will receive the v-Pass by email—replacing the traditional passport stamp and QR code sticker. The v-Pass is issued only after immigration validates entry or exit with your passport.

Before entry is confirmed, completing the mandatory « e-Arrival » form is required. This online step, in force since 1 July 2024 for all travellers, replaces the paper forms traditionally distributed on board or on arrival. Travellers now submit a single online request and upload their travel, health and customs data before landing.
Smoother journeys through centralised access
Once issued, the digital v-Pass can be retrieved from multiple channels: via the emailed e-form delivery, the official « Cambodia e-Arrival » website, or the dedicated mobile app. The new process promises a smoother user experience and cuts queuing times, accelerating both entry and exit formalities.
From the Cambodian authorities’ official portal arrival.gov.kh, visitors can:
Submit the « e-Arrival » application;
Download the v-Pass travel permit;
Apply for an e-Visa.
e-Visa or visa on arrival?
Most nationalities currently require an e-Visa to enter and stay in Cambodia. The e-Visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue, and successful online applicants are granted a single 30-day stay. The online visa process smooths both airport arrivals and outbound logistics. Travellers may still obtain a visa on arrival, if preferred.
According to the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, air-traffic volumes are rebounding strongly: Cambodian airports welcomed 3.04 million passengers in the first five months of 2025. These new digital procedures were introduced to ease traveller movements and to strengthen border security and administration across the Kingdom.
