India Visa Services in France: VFS Global Centers to Close
From July 1, 2025, France’s VFS Global centers will stop processing Indian visa, passport, and OCI card applications, shifting all services to the Indian Embassy in Paris on an appointment-only basis.
As of July 1, 2025, VFS Global centers in France will cease processing all visa, passport, OCI card, and other consular applications on behalf of the Embassy of India. These centers will close to the public, and VFS Global will no longer be reachable by phone or email.

Processing Applications Through the Embassy of India in Paris
The Embassy of India in Paris will take over these services directly from its Consular Section at 20-22 rue Alibéric Magnard, in the 16th arrondissement. Access to services will now be strictly by appointment only, through an online booking system currently under development.
Brief Pause in Consular Services
The Embassy advises that a short interruption in all consular services is expected from July 1, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to monitor the Embassy’s website for the most up-to-date information on reopening procedures and appointment scheduling.
E-Visa for India Remains Active
The electronic visa (e-Visa) system for India continues to operate normally. French and other eligible travelers can apply online for visas (tourism, business, medical, Ayurveda, or conference attendance) without visiting a physical center or the Embassy. Validity periods range from 30 days to 5 years depending on visa type, with stays permitted from 30 to 180 days.
