Cambodia ditches sticker visas for e-Visas starting October 3, 2026
Since October 3, 2026, post-embassy e-visas for Cambodia are now sent by email, replacing traditional sticker visa vignettes, while visa on arrival remains available at key entry points.
While the visa on arrival continues to be available, the Royal Government of Cambodia has announced a shift away from sticker visas in embassies and consulates starting October 3, 2026.
What’s changing since October 3?
According to a notice from the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Berlin, all visa types—tourist, business, or ordinary—will be issued as electronic visas (e-Visas) instead of the traditional physical stickers. Travelers must print the e-Visa and present it if requested. The e-Visa file is sent via email.

The embassy in Berlin also clarified that travelers no longer need to leave their original passport at the embassy. Instead, a quick check is done at the counter if necessary.
Three ways to secure your visa for cambodia
The Berlin embassy outlines three main methods—applicable broadly to foreign visitors—for obtaining a Cambodian visa:
The first is through the official e-Visa portal, which is always accessible for submitting applications, completing forms, and uploading supporting documents. Applications are processed by email, and travelers can track, review, or make changes to pending requests in the “Check and Change” feature. Processing typically takes 5–7 business days.

The second option is still the visa on arrival, which remains available at all international airports and major land border crossings.
The third method involves applying via an embassy, a process that now utilizes the e-Visa portal on the traveler’s behalf. Walk-in applications are not accepted at the Berlin embassy, but the office remains open for processing requests submitted in person or by email. Required items for submission or walk-in include:
complete signed application form
scan of the biometric passport page with perfectly legible MRZ lines
round-trip flight tickets
proof of accommodation
At the Embassy of Cambodia in Berlin, there is no longer any need to submit original passport sticker visas. Processing fees are 35 € for a tourist e-visa and 40 € for a business or ordinary visa, covering 30–35 € for the visa and a 5 € uploading fee, though rates may differ at other application posts. Confirm fee details with your specific embassy or consulate.
About the e-Arrival process
The Cambodia e-Arrival portal (https://arrival.gov.kh/) clarifies that all visitors must submit this form in addition to e-visas, including those arriving at land borders or already holding a visa. The e-Arrival form is free when submitted within 7 days prior to arrival, integrating the immigration card, health declaration, and customs form.
Upon arrival, travelers receive by email a v-Pass that replaces the traditional ink stamp in the passport, as detailed in our article on the Visitor Pass system.
