Malaysia Launches Digital Arrival Card for Foreign Travelers

Malaysia introduces the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC), a mandatory online form for foreign visitors entering the country from December 1, 2023.

The Malaysian government has rolled out a digital arrival card system for foreign travelers, making it mandatory to complete from December 1, 2023. Here’s what travelers need to know about the new process.

What Is the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card?

The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) is an online form that must be completed by all foreign travelers visiting Malaysia. This initiative aims to streamline and digitize the country’s immigration services. Travelers will need to provide personal details and information about their stay in Malaysia.

Who Must Complete the MDAC?

All foreign nationals, including tourists and business travelers, are required to fill out the MDAC prior to their arrival in Malaysia. Exceptions apply to permanent residents and holders of long-term visas transiting through Singapore.

How to Fill Out the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card

  • Step 1: Access the official website – Visit the MDAC official portal.

  • Step 2: Complete the form – Fill in the online form with the following details:

Malaysia Eases Visa Rules to Boost Tourism

In addition to the MDAC system, Malaysia has rolled out a visa liberalization plan to make the country more accessible to foreign tourists. The move aims to revitalize the national economy, particularly in tourism and investment sectors.

Nationals of multiple countries, including China and India, now enjoy visa-free entry to Malaysia for stays of 14 to 90 days.
