In early September, Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth announced a nuanced, 3-stage opening of Mauritius' borders.
For the time being, and until the end of September, the flights will concern the repatriation of Mauritian nationals. In a second phase, scheduled for October 1, other flights will be programmed, but priority will continue to be given to Mauritians, residents and work permit holders.
As the French prepare for their winter vacations, it's still difficult to plan ahead, even in this region.
Indeed, in view of the health crisis and the resurgence of Covid cases, no precise date has yet been confirmed for the full reopening of borders.
