As we previously reported, Russia is preparing its new e-Visa for early 2021. A few days ago, we received new details about the latter:
As you know, the new version of the Russian e-Visa will enable you to visit the country on a single visa, whereas previously you had to apply for an e-Visa specific to the 3 oblasts proposed by the Russian Government (Kalingrad, Leningrad, and the Middle East). The 29 entry points and 52 nationalities eligible for e-Visa have also been announced, with European countries among the eligible nationalities. The list of air, rail, land and sea entry points may still evolve.
Regarding your stay, the forthcoming electronic visa allows you to visit Russia for tourism, business or humanitarian purposes for a period of 16 days. Once the document has been issued, you will have 60 days to travel to Russia.
As a result of the health crisis, this e-Visa, initially scheduled for January 1, will now be available "early 2021", according to the Russian government.
