On March 21, 2021, it was announced that two new e-Visas would be introduced for the United Arab Emirates: a long-term, multiple-entry tourist visa and a visa for employees wishing to work remotely.
What are the features of these e-Visas?
The multiple-entry tourist visa is valid for 5 years. Nationals of any country in the world can apply for a visa to stay for 90 days, as many times as necessary.
The second electronic visa is for employees or self-employed workers wishing to telework from the United Arab Emirates. The health crisis has changed working habits, democratizing remote working. This e-Visa is valid for one year, and all employees can apply, even if the company is not based in the Emirates.
Mohammed ben Rachid Al Maktoum said on Twitter "with today's remote working technologies, we offer everyone the opportunity to live in the most beautiful and safest cities in the world".
Information on the effective date, prices and other details of these electronic visas has not yet been released.
