By being in contact with various tourism professionals, travelers-tourdumondists, bloggers... we realize that travel desires are evolving with the crisis.
Today we're going to take a look at "Slow Travel", a "sub-category" of the more global Slow movement.
To define the term in a few words, we can say that it's a state of mind, a desire to reconnect with what's essential. Unlike Revenge Travel which describes a phenomenon of over-consumption in tourism, Slow Travel refers to the need to take one's time, to discover a place and its inhabitants in depth, to identify the means of transport as an integral part of the journey, to discover less distant destinations, to be in the exchange, no longer to worry about the tight timing of often overcrowded tourist visits, to stay longer on site...
The current context is playing a major role in the development of Slow travel in the minds of travellers. The last few months have seen many people open their eyes to the environmental impacts caused by mass tourism, and the need to reconnect with each other.
