AVE, ESTA, NZETA, e-Visa: visa acronyms explained

As soon as we start researching travel formalities for a destination, we come across a whole range of different acronyms and terms. These formalities can be carried out online, but there are some essential nuances to be understood if we are to begin the process with peace of mind.

ETA / ESTA / AVE / NZETA travel authorizations ?

This is an authorization to travel to the country, and in most cases it allows you to be exempted from the visa requirement.

It has different names depending on the destination: AVEElectronic Travel Authorizatione for Canada - ETA being its English equivalent - Electronic Travel Authorization, ESTAElectronic System for Travel Authorization for the United States, NZetaNew Zealand Electronic Travel Authority.

Europe, too, is planning to introduce an electronic travel authorization by 2022. ETIASEuropean Travel Information and Authorization Systemwill assist visitors from visa-exempt countries entering the Schengen zone.

E-Visa ?

L'e-Visa, electronic travel authorization application, equivalent to the traditional visa, allows entry into the country under the terms of the agreement. The final decision on entry will be made by the immigration officer. This is the difference between travel authorizations and e-Visas.
