From January 2021, Russia will offer an e-Visa for visiting the entire country. We tell you all about it!
When the Russian e-Visa was released in 2019, nationals of 53 countries were given the opportunity to visit Russia by obtaining their visa online. However, only the regions of Leningrad, the Kaliningrad enclave and its region, the Russian Far East and St. Petersburg were open to visits, for up to 8 days.
From January 2021, all 52 nationalities (the same as those eligible for e-Visa except Qatar, which enjoys an exemption) will be able to visit any part of Russia freely, regardless of region, by passing through checkpoints.
The length of stay has also been increased, with a 16-day authorization for tourist, business and humanitarian visas.
Nationalities concerned: European Union countries, Andorra, Bahrain, China (including Taiwan), India, Indonesia, Iran, Iceland, Japan, Kuwait, Liechtenstein, North Korea, Northern Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Norway, Oman, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Switzerland, Turkey and Vatican City.
