Good news, it will now be easier to travel to this mountainous Central Asian country thanks to e-visa. As of March 1, 2020, the procedures for obtaining one have been eased.
The aim was to simplify procedures for foreigners, in line with the wishes of President Emomali Rahmon. VISAMUNDI brings you an update on the new arrangements effective from March 1, 2020 and also detailed on the official Tajik government website: evisa.tj
The length of stay must not exceed 60 days, as opposed to 45 days previously. The validity period is 90 days. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the validity of the visa.
This new e-visa can now be issued with multiple entries, in order to extend visits to Tajikistan's neighboring countries during the 90 days of validity. Nationals of 121 countries are eligible, and can now choose between a single-entry e-visa and a multiple-entry e-visa.
It is also possible to add the fee-paying GBAO permit, which allows the holder to visit the autonomous region of Nagorno-Badakhshan, with the exception of the territory of Lake Sarez.
