As the number one destination in Europe and the world, France is keen to attract international travelers once again, with the aim of boosting its economy. To motivate international travelers, the French government has decided to make PCR tests free of charge for anyone wishing to visit France for the summer vacations.
France is the first European country to propose the idea of free PCR testing. Clément Beaune, Secretary of State for European Affairs, is encouraging other European countries to adopt this new measure: "The European Parliament is calling for tests to be made free throughout Europe", he says. While some European countries offer PCR tests for around a hundred euros, Clément Beaune hopes that prices will be harmonized between European countries that do not wish to make PCR tests free for their international travelers.
A quarantine soon to be lifted...
The quarantine imposed on all visitors to France is still in force, but will probably be lifted with the arrival of the European health pass, which is intended to be protective and does not require any new sanitary measures.
