The BAR association (Board of Airlines Representatives), representing the main airlines in France and Europe, is calling for better European coordination to enable travel to resume and borders to be reopened.
Indeed, the summer was synonymous with administrative cacophony between European countries concerning the definition of entry conditions for travelers.
It therefore calls on the European Commission to follow the example of the models proposed by ICAO-IATA for the resumption of air traffic under acceptable health safety conditions. These would be models detailed in the take-off guide, setting out a common framework of testing protocols enabling borders to be opened, while reducing the risk of coronavirus importation.
Last week, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) called for travel restrictions to be eased, quarantine measures lifted and borders reopened.
IATA has also called on governments to maintain financial support for airlines to boost global traffic.
