On Monday, the Canadian government announced that it would ease entry restrictions for fully vaccinated travelers to Canada, starting July 5.
While a quarantine was previously required, this will no longer be necessary for those who have been vaccinated. Nor will there be any need to book a hotel. "This is the first step in our cautious approach. We have no plans to open the border any further than that."says the Minister Dominic LeBlanc.
To date, you'll still need a compelling reason to enter, but that could soon change. The Canadian government hopes to have 75% of its population vaccinated before lifting its restrictions. Fewer than 20% are currently fully vaccinated.
