Certain documents allow you to travel in certain parts of the world, subject to certain conditions. Here's how.
Residence permits :
The only cards that allow you to travel are the following. accompanied by your passport :
- Carte long séjour (long-stay card): allows you to stay for more than 3 months in certain EU countries.
- Resident's card
- Permanent Resident Card

Residence permit :
Foreign nationals with refugee or stateless status must hold a document in lieu of a passport to travel outside France, i.e. a refugee travel document (TVR), which accompanies a ten-year residence permit or a travel document for foreign minors.
This biometric travel document is valid for 5 years, and allows travel outside France, excluding the country of origin for refugees and subsidiary protected persons.
Please note, however, that not all of these documents can be used to obtain e-Visas. You'll need to go directly to the embassy, so allow plenty of time before your trip for the documents/cards to arrive. Private services can help.
