From August 1st, France tightens its COVID-19 screening protocol

During a visit to Roissy, Jean Castex announces that France has decided to tighten its COVID-19 screening protocol.

A system has been set up at ports and airports for travelers from 16 countries.

  • The countries concerned are segmented into two categories:
A "category 1 red list" where travelers will be tested before boarding for Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, the United States and Panama.
  • A "category 2 red list" where passengers will be screened on arrival in France for Algeria, Brazil, India, Israel, Kuwait, Madagascar, Oman, Peru, Qatar, Serbia, South Africa and Turkey.

If the passenger does not have a test, one will be performed on site, leaving his or her contact details so that we can contact him or her in the event of a positive result.

Anyone refusing to be tested will be placed directly in quarantine, and this measure is due to be implemented by August 1st at the latest.
