The Cape Verdean authorities have announced a new measure on their online visa platform that will come into effect on January 1, 2026. Several nationalities will be required to obtain a visa before arriving in Cape Verde. These include: single-entry visa as well as transit or stopover visa.

Travellers concerned
An official list of the nationalities concerned has been published on the official website: ease.gov.cv/. In total, the citizens of the following 96 countries will have to comply with this new requirement as of January 1st:

Applying for a visa via an online form
Since the online application website, Eligible travelers can complete the form, providing various details concerning their biometric data (passport number, date of birth, etc.) and their planned trip to Cape Verde. Before submitting the application, it is advisable to have the dates of stay, accommodation, and outbound flight number to hand. No documents need to be attached to the application form.
Regarding the price, the request is subject to a fee totaling 53,50โฌ. Several travel documents are included. The price is broken down as follows:
- Airport security tax (30,83โฌ).
- 30-day tourist visa (22,67โฌ)

Airport security tax is a mandatory payment for all travelers entering Cape Verde by air. All airports are eligible. Whether you need a visa or not, the procedure remains mandatory. Nationalities that do not need a visa to travel to Cape Verde can pay the tax online from the same request form or upon arrival in Cape Verde.
It is important to note that the 30-day tourist visa will be indicated, regardless of the reason for your stay in Cape Verde.
