In a move designed to boost tourism and international trade, China extended its visa-free transit policy to 240 hours (10 days) for nationals of 55 countriesaccording to a statement by the state news agency Xinhua. This measure took effect on June 12, 2025.
This initiative is part of a wider strategy to boost tourist appeal and strengthen trade links with foreign countries, following the restrictions imposed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Instructions: eligibility and entry requirements
Many Chinese nationals can now enter China without a visa for up to 10 days, provided they are transiting to a third country. During this stay, they can take advantage of the country's tourism or professional activitiesprovided that the following requirements are met:
1- The traveler must be a citizen of one of the 55 countries eligible for the program.

2- Have a international travel document valid for at least 3 months And meet entry requirements in a third country or region.
3- Applicants must hold interline passenger tickets indicating a specified date and seat for a third country or region within 240 hours. It must also fill in the arrival card for foreigners admittedWe are also able to provide temporary assistance and cooperate with border control authorities at entry and exit points.
4- If you meet the above conditions, you can submit an application to the authorities when you arrive at one of the 60 ports of entrysuch as Beijing and Shanghai.
