Starting in December 2025, travelers departing for Gabon will be able to complete the entire visa application process online. fully digital, from the initial application to entry into the country. This innovation continues the momentum that began after the trial phase of the free tourist visa that took place last summer. The main objective is to improve the speed, security, and, consequently, the attractiveness of the country's immigration system.
Currently, the system is already operational via the official platform evisa.dgdi.ga. Travelers can submit their application online, attaching the required documents, including the identity page of their passport and a recent photo.

Payment of consular fees via the e-visa portal
However, until now, the system had one major limitation: visa fees could only be paid in cash at Libreville's Léon Mba International Airport. This requirement led to currency exchanges, long queues, and a significant slowdown in administrative processing.
Following a working session, officials from the Ministry of Digital Economy, along with authorities and several electronic payment operators—including Airtel Money, Moov Money, Clikpay Money, and the MaDigiPaie platform—jointly announced the upcoming implementation of electronic payment. This new system will be directly integrated into the e-visa portal..
Travelers will thus have the opportunity to pay the fees before they even leave. The applicable rates are 70 euros (45,000 CFA francs) for a visa valid for 1 to 3 months with single entry, or 185 euros (120,000 XAF ) for a 6-month multiple-entry visa. A processing fee of €15 applies to each application.
The electronic tourist visa was free for international travelers from July 1 to September 30, 2025. You can check our latest news on this subject.
For the Gabonese government, the complete digitization of the procedure serves a clear purpose: to simplify and improve the traveler experience. It also aims to enhance security and bring the country into line with international standards in terms of border management. With the improvement of this new system, visitors will be able to save time when completing entry formalities on arrival, particularly with immigration (biometric data registration, entry visa validation).
