Here's some feedback from my visit to Jersey this weekend (10/31 -> 11/1 2025): a sign in front of immigration control still seems to allow French nationals with a valid CNI (carte nationale d'identitรฉ) to enter the Channel Island of Jersey for the day, from France only.
What the Jersey Government

French nationals can travel to Jersey with their national identity card,
but for day trips only (day trip).
The conditions are :
- They cannot not work on site.
- They cannot stay no longer than one day.
- They cannot do not apply for public aid (public funds).
- They are not authorized to travel to other territories Common Travel Area (United Kingdom, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Ireland).
This contradicts our article of last Friday on the subject. Guernsey has made this CNI possibility official for French nationals until 2026.
We can't say whether the sign has been forgotten or whether it still applies. If in doubt, take a valid passport. The small number of people on the boat seems to suggest caution...
