The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has confirmed a significant reform aimed at simplifying access to the Umrah rites. From now on, all visa holders, regardless of type, can make the Umrah pilgrimage during their stay in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This information was relayed by Saudi Press Agency and the authorities communicated, via their social network X, Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
This initiative is a key step towards facilitate procedures for visitors and to widen the circle of beneficiaries of the services offered under the Hajj and Umrah system. It is specifically in line with the objectives of the Vision 2030 of Saudi Arabia.
These facilities reflect the desire of the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to enable Muslims around the world to perform their rites in a serene spiritual setting, while offering them high-quality services that enrich their religious experience.
Expansion of eligible visas
According to information relayed by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), this new measure would enable future travelers to carry out their stay, initially planned for different travel reasons, while including the Umrah pilgrimage. The types of visa now concerned include, among others, personal and family visas, electronic tourist visas, transit visas and work visas.
The Nusuk Omra digital platform, in support
To support this easier access, the ministry also highlighted the recent launch of the digital platform Nusuk Omra. It aims to offer a complete digital experience, guaranteeing flexibility and comfort for all its users. This platform is designed to simplify administrative and logistical procedures. Umrah visitors can choose from a selection, a package tailored to their stay and provided by approved service providers. Depending on the dates of stay, each package may include the following items:
