Gulf States now eligible for Indian e-visa

Electronic visas (e-visa) now available for several Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Kuwait and Qatar have been added to the list of eligible countries. This is an important step towards simplifying consular procedures and strengthening bilateral relations between India and the GCC countries. The initiative, hailed by India's Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr Adarsh Swaika, at a press conference, aims to facilitate travel and deepen human exchanges.

On Thursday July 10, the Indian ambassador, Vinod K. Jacobhad announced the launch of the electronic visa (e-visa) for Bahraini nationals.

The new scheme allows Kuwaiti citizens to apply for their visa to India in a fully automated way. dematerializedvia the official portal from the Indian government. It is no longer necessary to physically visit the embassy. The service covers five main visa categories: Tourism, Business, Medical, Ayush-yoga (Ayurveda), Conference

Processing time is generally between 3 and 4 working daysFees vary from $40 to $80, depending on the type and duration of the visa.

Copy of passportvalid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival in India and a passport photo are required documents. A letter of invitation can be added to the list if you're traveling for medical, business, conference or humanitarian purposes.

E-Visa and eligibility for Gulf countries

With the exception of Iraq, all nationals of member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council can apply for an electronic visa or e-Visato facilitate their entry into India.
