THE December 31, 2025, The country has introduced new entry rules that redefine how international travelers can arrive in the country and stay there for various reasons, such as tourism, business, or transit.
A official communiqué has been published to inform future travelers about these new conditions.
Visa exemption for a defined period of stay
Prior to this announcement, it was possible to travel to Kyrgyzstan and stay there for up to 60 days without a visa. Now, for citizens of 55 countries (including members of the European Union, the United States, Canada, and Australia), the length of stay permitted without a visa has been reduced.
The new rule stipulates that a traveler can stay without a visa for a maximum of 30 calendar days during every 60-day period from the moment they enter the country. This means that it is no longer possible to simply cross the border and return in order to re-enter the country. It is now essential to comply with this condition in order to avoid exceeding the authorized length of stay.
Which nationals can travel without a visa?
Citizens of the following countries may travel without a visa for a stay of up to 30 days maximum:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vatican City, United Kingdom, Hungary, Germany, Netherlands, Greece, Denmark, Iceland, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Canada, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, United States, Finland, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Estonia, Brunei Darussalam, Japan, Montenegro, Andorra, Argentina, Brazil, San Marino, Chile, Albania, Bulgaria, Vietnam, Israel, Cyprus, North Macedonia, Romania, Thailand, Mexico.
An electronic visa platform
The authorities have developed an electronic visa platform to simplify the visa process before arrival in the country. This may be necessary if you are exempt from a visa for 30 days but your stay exceeds the authorized duration. For nationals who are not exempt from a visa, it is advisable to check eligibility for an electronic visa on the official website of the authorities.
From the website evisa.gov.kg/, it is possible to access the online visa application form. Several types of visas are available, depending on the reason for your trip to Kyrgyzstan.
