From January 1, 2026, Uzbekistan will be introducing a visa-free regime for all US citizensThe new visa will allow them to stay for up to 30 days without having to obtain a visa first. Until now, only Americans aged 55 and over have benefited from this facilitated access for tourist stays, as well as minors under 16 for tourist visits of less than 90 days accompanied by their legal guardians.
Boosting travel
This new measure, made official by presidential decreeaims to boost tourism, economic, cultural and humanitarian exchanges between Uzbekistan and the United States. It is part of a broader policy of international openness already applied to several other nationalities, notably those from Gulf countries recently integrated into the visa-free regime. With this initiative, Uzbekistan is also seeking to strengthen its position on the world tourism scene and attract more foreign tourists, while signalling its openness to investment and academic cooperation.
Towards a bilateral agreement with the United States?
