Cambodia digitalizes its immigration policy with Visitor Pass and e-Arrival

Since July 1, 2025, Cambodia has launched a pilot phase for a a new digital system called v-Pass (Visitor Pass) for foreign travelers. Through this initiative by the Direction Gรฉnรฉrale de l'Immigration (DGI), the country is modernizing its management of arrivals and departures by gradually doing away with passport stamps and QR codes, in favor of a centralized, digital platform.

Towards fully digital immigration

The "Cambodia v-Pass" is fully in line with the government's digital transformation strategy. This tool aims to simplify border-crossing procedures, improve administrative efficiency, and enhance security at checkpoints for all visitors arriving or leaving the country via the three main international airports or seaports. From now on, all travelers entering Cambodia will receive a Visitor Pass (v-Pass) by email. which will replace the stamp or QR code sticker on the passport. This is done with the immigration service, which will validate your entry and exit, together with your passport.

Before confirming your entry, it is mandatory to have completed the "e-Arrival" form, a formality in force since July 01, 2024for all travelers, prior to arrival in Cambodia. This process is designed to replace several paper documents often provided on arrival or during your flight. All you have to do is make a single request and fill in your details online, including immigration, health and customs forms.)

Simplified procedures and centralized access

Travelers have several access points for retrieving their v-Pass electronic document: by electronic form sent by e-mail, via the official "Cambodia e-Arrival" website, or through the dedicated mobile application. This will provide a smoother user experience and reduce the time spent at checkpoints, making entry and exit formalities much quicker.

From the official website of the Cambodian authorities: arrival.gov.khyou can :

  • Make an "e-Arrival" request
  • Get the Visitor Pass (v-Pass)
  • Apply for an e-Visa

Electronic Visa (e-Visa) / Visa on arrival

At present, most nationalities require an electronic visa. to enter and stay in Cambodia. The visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue. Travelers who have obtained an approved visa online can enter Cambodia once and stay for a maximum of 30 days. The online visa procedure is designed to make your entry into Cambodia as smooth as possible, but also to simplify your pre-departure formalities. Please note that visas can be obtained on arrival in the country.

According to the French State Secretariat for Civil Aviation, there is one strong upturn in air traffic to this destination. Cambodian airports recorded 3.04 million passengers in the first five months of 2025. New digital procedures have therefore been introduced, notably to streamline the experience of travellers and for border management by immigration (security and administration).
