Qantas: international flights to resume in July 2021

Following a 91% drop in profits compared with the previous year, Australian airline, Qantas has announced the likelihood of a resumption of international flights for July 2021. It will therefore be possible to book your tickets as early as next summer.

Qantas CEO Alan Joyce said it was the most difficult period for airlines in 100 years.

Alan Joyce wants to make the Covid-19 vaccine compulsory for travel: "For some of our major destinations such as the USA or the UK, a vaccine will be required for travel given the high prevalence of the virus in these two countries, but we are increasingly confident about the opportunities and potential of a vaccine to help revive these operations by the end of 2021 (...) vaccination would therefore be compulsory for all Qantas international flights, albeit with some likely exceptions."

In a press release, the Australian government also declared its willingness to reopen its borders as soon as the health situation improves.

Qantas Airways is one of Australia's largest airlines, and a world-renowned one at that.. Founded in 1920, it is the world's third oldest airline still in operation, after KLM and Avianca.

Qantas is ranked as one of the safest airlines in the world, with an excellent safety record. Qantas has also established a reputation for high-quality service and customer satisfaction, having won numerous awards for its service and punctuality.

In terms of size, Qantas is Australia's largest airline by fleet size, number of destinations served and number of passengers carried. It is also the world's second oldest international airline.
