As of today, the April 27, 2026, Thailand has officially deployed a major overhaul of its costs visas and consular services for Indian applicants. Announced by the Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi, this tariff increase is part of a wider drive by the Thai government to restructure its worldwide hospitality policy.

Why the increase, and who is really affected?
Thailand is adjusting its administrative costs to support the modernization of its consular infrastructure. While this tariff update specifically targets requests processed in India, It is a strong indicator of the global trend of rising immigration costs to Thailand for non-OECD countries.
Indian nationals currently benefit from a visa-free regime for short-stay tourism. The new fee structure therefore applies exclusively to travellers requiring a visa stamped on the passport, whether for specific stays, multiple-entry visas or expatriation.
